Decision Guides
Quick, practical answers to the judgement calls, like when a service needs a consent form.
Should I require a consent form for this service?
| Treatment type | Recommendation |
|---|---|
| Injectable treatments (Botox, dermal fillers) | ✅ Always, legally required in the UK |
| Laser treatments | ✅ Always |
| Chemical peels | ✅ Recommended |
| Microneedling, PRP | ✅ Always |
| Facials, skin treatments | ✅ Recommended, good practice |
| Consultations only | ❌ Not needed |
| Follow-up appointments | ❌ Not usually needed (original consent covers it) |
💡 How to set it up: Go to Settings → Services & Pricing, edit the service, and link a consent template. Then go to Settings → Consent Forms to create the template if you haven't already.
What appointment status should I use?
| Situation | Status to use |
|---|---|
| Patient has just booked (online or by phone) | Confirmed |
| Patient has arrived at the clinic | Arrived |
| Practitioner has started the treatment | In Progress |
| Treatment is finished, patient is leaving | Completed |
| Patient called to cancel in advance | Cancelled |
| Patient didn't show up at all | No-show |
| You cancelled or no-showed by mistake | Reactivate → Confirmed |
How should I organise my inventory categories?
| Clinic type | Suggested categories |
|---|---|
| General aesthetics | Injectables, Skincare, Consumables, Equipment |
| Skin clinic | Peels, Serums, Devices, Disposables |
| Multi-treatment clinic | By treatment area (Face, Body, Hair) or by type (Products, Devices, Supplies) |
💡 Tip: Keep it simple, 4-6 categories is usually enough. You can always reorganise later.
